The radio transmits the highest GMRS power (5-watts) permitted under FCC regulations. The max range is over 35 miles, however, 2 to 8 miles is typical in backcountry terrain. The radio includes a specialized 1800 mAH battery that achieves around 4 to 6 days on a single charge, even in frigid conditions down to -20°F.Easily attach the 5 Watt to packs and other gear using the integrated steel gator clip (with 360-degree rotation) and backup leash.
