Hand-propagated, grown and ethically sourced/maintained star moss. One of the most unique of our homegrown moss offerings. Moist is fine. DO NOT PLACE on very wet soil. It thrives better on moist surfaces of rock, wood or backgrounds. *** Ship DRIED in summer when weather is hot, and may be somewhat dormant. It will turn back to its lush, vibrant color after you mist with water. Instructions: Water with distilled, RO (reverse osmosis), or rain water when the moss is dry. Star moss prefers to dry out a little before being watered. You can tell when your moss is ready to water when it is pale and dry to the touch (DO NOT SMOOSH). When kept in containers or terrariums, moss won't dry out as quickly either due to surface area or higher humidity. In higher humidity, star moss will become long and sparse. If you do not like this appearance, be sure to keep it in bright, indirect light, where larger plants will not overshadow it. High quality lighting is required, offering between 6,500k - 7,000k in color for 8-10 hours a day. Make sure you don't leave the grow lights on all the time, the moss needs to rest.
